Accelerating Carbon Removal Innovation in Africa: Introducing ACRA

We're excited to announce the launch of the Africa Carbon Removal Accelerator (ACRA), a pioneering six-month program supporting early-stage carbon removal startups across Sub-Saharan Africa.

This initiative brings together the expertise of sus.lab ETH Zürich, Max Planck Net Zero Lab, Strathmore University, and Nuvoni Centre for Innovation Research.

With its rich ecosystems, untapped market potential, and growing interest in climate solutions, Sub-Saharan Africa is perfectly positioned to become a CDR powerhouse. ACRA will support this transformation by offering:

  • Expert Exposure: Connect with leading CDR experts, buyers, and investors

  • Guidance and Coaching: Receive specialized training and one-on-one support

  • Community Connections: Join a global network of CDR innovators and founders

Are you an early-stage CDR startup founder in Sub-Saharan Africa? Apply now to join our inaugural cohort.

This program is supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) through the SOR4D programme.
